HERBERT FAIREY used to be a familiar sight in and around Sheffield in the early nineteen thirties.
As a plumber he used to walk miles to repair and replace faulty or damaged guttering and pipes.
He used to carry the lead piping on his back which must have been incredibly tiring. He ran his business from a shop unit in Crookesmoor Road and then Barber Road in 1971 where son Trevor was also helping build the business.
Trevor's sons Richard, Nicholas and David all joined the business from school in 1979, 1984 and 1985 respectively. Sadly, Trevor passed away in 1998 and the brothers incorporated the business later that year.
In December 2007 the brothers relocated away from Barber Road to stunning new premises not far away just off the A61 Penistone Road. The new premises boast plenty of free parking, easy access and over 22 displays all on one floor.
